McDonald's Durango is a proud sponsor of the Durango Winter Sports Club! I'm lovin it!
The Hall of Fame was born out of the Durango Winter Sports Foundation and a desire to recognize those that go above and beyond in supporting our youth in pursuit of excellence, as well as those that have been role models by having a positive impact on the growth of competitive winter sports in our community. Durango Nordic and Durango Winter Sports Club seek to continue the legacy of the Hall of Fame.
The legacy of elite athletes, dedicated coaches/directors, and other leaders making a positive impact continues on in each athlete that they reach; acknowledging these extraordinary individuals is important. Such commitment is what makes programs like ours not only survive but thrive in our small community.
A committee of representatives from the winter sports community will select an individual(s) each year to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The following workable criteria has been used to select recipients:
Pioneers in a competitive winter sport
Developers of facilities for competitive winter sport athletes
Coaches who have successfully developed and grown competitive programs
Athletes who have notable results at National and International Competitions
Athletes who have brought positive recognition and honor to the Durango Community through a successful competitive career
Athletes, Coaches, and Industry Builders who have successfully “Paid it Forward” for the benefit of those who followed as athletes, coaches, and competitive skiing supporters.
